HISTOTECHNICIAN

Casual -- JOB # 2014.0011

  • Summary: Will assist pathologist/physician with grossing of specimens. Will process, embed, cut, and stain tissue specimens so a quality microscopic slide can be produced for diagnosis by a pathologist/physician.
  • Required Qualifications: High school graduate with background in biology and chemistry plus successful completion of an accredited course in histologic technique. ASCP registry or eligible, with intent to complete within 6-9 months. BLS certification.
  • Desired Qualifications: Exposure to one year in histology lab/previous work experience.
  • Schedule: As needed, variable days and shifts to cover business needs.

Medical Laboratory Scientist

  • Summary: Will demonstrate knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and instrumentation, and will independently perform routine and complex analysis in all areas of the laboratory without supervision.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (i.e, Bachelor of Science degree supplemented with demonstrated laboratory skills). Completion of a 6-12 month clinical internship. BLS certification within 6 months of employment, if not certified upon hire. Certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency, or eligibility for certification with intent to complete within 6-9 months.
  • Desired Qualifications: One year of laboratory experience. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems. ASCP.
  • Schedule: Full time, 0.9 FTE, 36 hours/week, flexible shift with regular weekend and holiday rotation.

Medical Laboratory Technician

  • Summary: Will demonstrate knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and instrumentation, and will independently perform routine and complex analysis in all areas of the laboratory without supervision.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (i.e, Military trained - Medical Lab Specialist certificate of training obtained prior to April 24, 1995). Completion of a 6-12 month Clinical internship. BLS certification within 6 months of employment, if not certified upon hire. Certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency, or eligibility for certification with intent to complete within 6-9 months.
  • Desired Qualifications: One year of laboratory experience. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems. ASCP.

PHLEBOTOMIST

Casual - JOB # 2018.0049

  • Summary: Will perform various laboratory procedures in both clinic and hospital settings. Will work under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures to perform the manual and technical tasks involved with the proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of biological specimens for laboratory testing from patients of all ages. Will be responsible for utilizing relevant computer programs, performing data entry, and canceling and crediting tests. Must follow strict patient identification policies, including verification of specimen labels applied to patient samples. Will have continuous patient contact and is the laboratory’s ambassador to our patients and must follow applicable organizational policies.
  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or its equivalent for Phlebotomist I. Minimum one year of full-time experience for Phlebotomist II. BLS certification within 3 months of employment, if not certified upon hire. ASCP certification within 6-9 months.
  • Desired Qualifications: Successful completion of a phlebotomy program or related healthcare training (MA, CNA, EMT, etc.)
  • Schedule: Casual, various shifts, as needed for department coverage.

PHLEBOTOMIST II

  • Summary: Will perform various laboratory procedures in both clinic and hospital settings.   • Desired Qualifications: Successful completion of a phlebotomy program or related healthcare training (MA, CNA, EMT, etc.)
  • Schedule: Full time, 7/70 (7 days on/7 days off), Wednesday to Wednesday, 9pm to 7am.
