HISTOTECHNICIAN

(Casual -- JOB # 2014.0011)

  • Summary: Will assist pathologist/physician with grossing of specimens. Will process, embed, cut, and stain tissue specimens so a quality microscopic slide can be produced for diagnosis by a pathologist/physician.
  • Required Qualifications: High school graduate with background in biology and chemistry plus successful completion of an accredited course in histologic technique. ASCP registry or eligible, with intent to complete within 6-9 months. BLS certification.
  • Desired Qualifications: Exposure to one year in histology lab/previous work experience.
  • Schedule: As needed, variable days and shifts to cover business needs.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST –or– MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

(Casual -- JOB # 2017.0049)

Medical Laboratory Scientist

  • Summary: Will demonstrate knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and instrumentation, and will independently perform routine and complex analysis in all areas of the laboratory without supervision.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent (i.e, Bachelor of Science degree supplemented with demonstrated laboratory skills). Completion of a 6-12 month clinical internship. BLS certification. Certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency, or eligibility for certification with intent to complete within 6-9 months.
  • Desired Qualifications: One year of laboratory experience. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems. ASCP.
  • Schedule: Casual, variable eight-hour shifts, as needed for staff coverage.

Medical Laboratory Technician

  • Summary: Will demonstrate knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, and instrumentation, and will independently perform routine and complex analysis in all areas of the laboratory without supervision.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent (i.e, Military trained - Medical Lab Specialist certificate of training obtained prior to April 24, 1995). Completion of a 6-12 month Clinical internship. BLS certification. Certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency, or eligibility for certification with intent to complete within 6-9 months.
  • Desired Qualifications: One year of laboratory experience. Experience with Laboratory Information Systems. ASCP.
  • Schedule: Casual, variable eight-hour shifts, as needed for staff coverage.
