DIRECTOR OF HEART, LUNG, AND VASCULAR SERVICES

JOB # 2018.0051

  • Summary: Will have responsibility and accountability for planning, organizing, directing and controlling all activities related to patient care in these departments. This includes personnel management, budgeting, reimbursement issues, patient care management, marketing, research, and continuous quality improvement. Departments that report to this leader include the Cath Lab, Outpatient Cardiac Care Unit (OPCC), Cardiac and Pulmonary Services, and Cardiac Diagnostics. Currently there are two managers who report to this director position.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Five years of experience in a cardiology department or in biomedical technology. Five years of progressive management experience. Nursing licensure for the State of Wisconsin. BLS and ACLS certification within six months of hire, if not certified upon hire.
  • Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in nursing, management, or related field. Registered in non-invasive cardiology technology through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Registered in echocardiography or diagnostic sonography through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Registered Cardiovascular Technologist.

PATIENT COORDINATOR

JOB # 2018.0052 and JOB # 2018.0054

  • Summary: Will perform reception and scheduling duties in the medical setting, coordinate activities in the Cardiology Services Departments (Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Vascular Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Stress Lab, Special Procedures, Peripheral Vascular Lab, Echo Lab, PFT Lab, and EKG/Monitor Labs), and provide support for the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department.
  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or its equivalent. Software program experience with Word and Outlook. One year of clerical support -- Health Unit Coordinator, medical appointment secretary, or similar experience -- in a healthcare setting. BLS certification within three months of employment, if not certified upon hire.
  • Desired Qualifications: Graduate of Medical Transcription or medical office support program. Completion of medical terminology or other healthcare coursework. Notary Public.
  • Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8 to 10-hour shifts, variable hours between 6am and 6pm.

We are a highly awarded campus that is quickly growing and one of four hospitals in the State of Wisconsin performing the advanced MitraClip Structured Heart procedure, with more advanced procedures coming soon.

This position is for a Cardiovascular Sonographer looking for opportunities for professional growth and new technology.

  • Summary: If not already registered in both echo and vascular ultrasound, will train and become registered to independently perform cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams following American Society of Echocardiography (ICAEL) and ICAVL guidelines and department protocols. Will evaluate normal/abnormal anatomy and pathology to produce images for interpretation by the interpreting physicians. All exam images are digitally acquired and documentation digitally archived. Will also be responsible for the safety of patients, visitors, and medical staff in Cardiovascular Ultrasound.
  • Required Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of 12 months ultrasound experience (inclusive of clinical rotations). ARDMS registered within one year of start date for either echo or vascular ultrasound. ARDMS registered for both RDCS (adult echo) and RVT (vascular tech) within three years of start date. BLS certification within three months of start date.
  • Desired Qualifications: Associate degree or completion of a formal AMA approved Ultrasound/Echocardiography program or Ultrasound/Vascular program. Minimum of 12 months full-time experience (inclusive of clinical rotations) scanning vascular or echocardiography; or minimum 12 months full-time experience scanning general with some vascular experience. If already ARDMS or CCI credentialed, the 12 months experience is not necessary. Two years of echocardiography or vascular experience. Six months of 3-D echocardiography experience. (Preference may be given to candidates possessing 3-D echo experience.) Current ARDMS registry. ACLS certification.
  • Schedule: Full time, 0.9 FTE, 36 hours/week, Monday-Friday, plus call nights/holidays/weekends on a rotational basis.
