Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy Services

The Diagnostic & Treatment Center (The DTC) offers services to meet a wide range of physical, occupational and speech therapy needs. Our highly skilled, professional staff will devise a treatment plan to help overcome physical or developmental problems resulting from illness or injury. The Diagnostic & Treatment Center rehabilitation professionals work closely with Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Medical Group providers, as well as see patients referred by any credentialed physician or healthcare provider. Our space and equipment are state of the art, including on-site aquatic therapy. Our space is designed with the patient's privacy in mind, having full private and semi-private treatment rooms, private locker rooms, as well as a therapy gym.

Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Our therapists have advanced training in the treatment of orthopedic injuries and post-operative care for orthopedic surgeries, including total joint replacements of hip, knee, ankle and shoulder. We also treat ACL reconstruction s/p arthroscopic surgery and rotator cuff repairs.

Hand Therapy

Our occupational therapists and certified hand therapist are dedicated to the treatment of hand injuries both conservatively as well as post-op care of nerve and tendon injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, lacerations, scarring, trigger fingers/thumb and fractures.

Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation

We provide therapy services for the treatment of balance issues and dizziness. Frequently, dizziness can be treated and eliminated through treatment. Our therapists also offer skilled interventions to improve balance and decrease risk of falls.

Orthotic Evaluation and Fabrication

The DTC has skilled physical therapists trained in the evaluation, fabrication and fitting of custom orthotics. Orthotics are custom fabricated foot supports. They are anatomically molded devices that are worn in your shoes and can help to relieve foot, knee, hip and back pain.

Pediatric Therapy Services

Pediatric PT and OT services are provided by specially trained therapists at the DTC. Some services include treatment of infants w/ torticollis, medically based and post-surgical services for children with special needs, interventions for pediatric orthopedic conditions like Osgood Schlatters disease or Severs disease, sports injuries and rehabilitation for injuries incurred in childhood.

Lymphedema Treatment

The DTC has a therapist certified in Lymphedema treatment including manual lymphatic treatment, medical multi-layer bandaging, exercise, skin care, patient education and compression garments.

The DTC also offers Speech services for the evaluation and treatment of:

Swallowing Disorders:

  • Evaluated clinically and/or with a Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study
  • Treatment of swallowing disorders may include modifying a diet texture, performing exercises to strengthen the swallow and/or teaching strategies to help the swallow be more effective and safe

Speech, Language, Voice and Cognitive impairments:

  • Speech, language and voice disorders affect one’s ability to talk, understand, read and write
  • Cognitive disorders affect one’s ability to attend, remember, solve problems, organize, self-regulate, orient and thus communicate effectively with others
  • Modalities are assessed using a variety of tools and treatment is designed based on areas of need
